Gary P. Whaley, 48, of Hitchcock, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 30, 2004. Gary was born November 14, 1955, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Dorothy and Elmer Whaley. Gary was a resident of Hitchcock for fifteen years. Gary worked for J. W. Kelso for many years as a heavy equipment operator. Gary was loved by many and will be missed very much.
Visitation for friends and family will be Monday, May 3, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the James Crowder Funeral Home, in La Marque. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. also at the James Crowder Funeral Home with Ralph Delanoix officiating. Burial to follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Whaley; his mother, Dorothy Whaley; and his brother, Edward Whaley. Survivors include wife, Jimmie Whaley; sisters, Margot Alford and husband, Charles, of Purdun, Texas; Leah Wiener and husband, Garland, of Friendswood, Texas; uncle, Louis Margot III and wife, Robbie, of Commerce, Texas; mother-in-law, Norine Delanoix, of Texas City; brother-in-law, Ralph Delanoix and wife, Sharon, of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Lorine Anderson and husband, Patrick, of Santa Fe, sister-in-law, Debra Delanoix, of La Marque; his beloved dog and best friend, Brandy; numerous nieces and nephews and lots of good friends.
Pallbearers will be George Cromer, Matt Brandenburg, Gary Downs, Mark Henson, Rob DeGroot and Steve Townley, with honorary pallbearers Darrel Sellers and Calvin Downs.
